Kargil Friday Sermons Stress Social Duties, Cleanliness, and Traffic Order
VOL News Desk/ In Kargil, Friday sermons by Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust and Jamiat Ulama Asna Ashariya featured prominent scholars addressing social issues, cleanliness, and public welfare. Hujjatul Islam Sheikh Hamid Naseri, speaking at Masjid Imam, emphasized that aiding others—such as removing obstacles from roads—surpasses mere worship. He condemned roadside littering and dumping garbage, particularly between Iqbal Bridge and Andoo, as a social evil contrary to Islamic teachings, and urged against releasing household wastewater onto streets, which causes public inconvenience.
Meanwhile, at Jamiat Ulama, Hujjatul Islam Sheikh Talib Subhani highlighted the hazards of throwing water on roads during winter, leading to slippery conditions and accidents, deeming it un-Islamic. He expressed strong concern over indiscriminate vehicle parking along roads in Poyen Bazaar, which exacerbates traffic congestion in the narrow area, affecting commuters and pedestrians alike. He also denounced dumping household waste on roadsides as unbecoming of a believer.
Overall, the scholars called on the public to uphold cleanliness, discipline, and mutual rights to foster a civilized and ethical society.
