Various delegations called on Lieutenant Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra in Kargil
Kargil, January 07, 2025: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Ladakh, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) was called on Tuesday by several delegations from different areas of Kargil at Raj Niwas, Kargil.
Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse and Senior Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Shree Ram R. were present during the meetings.
A delegation of Master of Physical Education (MPEd) students called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and requested for recruitment of physical education teachers.

In reply, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Administrative Secretary PDD/Tourism and Culture/Youth Services and Sports/Information and Public Relations, Vikram Singh Malik (IAS) to examine the matter.
Shujaat Ali, a student of Bachelor of Arts in Tourism called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and requested to make BA tourism mandatory for recruitments of professional posts in Tourism Department.
In reply, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Administrative Secretary, Vikram Singh Malik (IAS) to examine the matter and do needful as per the established norms.
Mohd Isaq, a resident of Lotsum also called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and requested for the opening of J&K Bank Branch at Lotsum.
In this regard, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Cluster Head J&K Bank Kargil to check the viability and do the needful as per rule.
A delegation led by Zakir Ali Zakiri, BJYM Media Secretary Ladakh called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and presented a memorandum of demands including construction of Ice Hockey Ground at Barsoo, Irrigation Canal from Khandi Nalla to Yarchoks and other developmental issues of Barsoo. In reply, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor assured them that all their demands and issues will be examined and needful will be done as per rule.
A delegation led by Ex Councilor Bhimbat, Syed Mohd Shah and raised the various issues of the area including pending construction of Girls Middle School Bhimbat and Middle School Chokiyal, allotment of funds for the construction of Govt. Middle School Lamochan, Khyber, Skyutyal, upgradation of Girls Middle School Bhimbat to Girls High School, pending lift irrigation installation at Dandal Thang and other developmental issues of the area.
Regarding the pending construction of Girls Middle School Bhimbat and Middle School Chokiyal, the HLG was informed by Director School Education, Ladakh that they have received the Administrative approval for it and tendering process will be started soon.
Regarding the construction of Govt. Middle School Lamochan, Khyber, Skyutyal, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the DC Kargil to examine the matter.
About the upgradation of Girls Middle School Bhimbat to Girls High School, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed Director School Education Ladakh to check the feasibility.
Regarding other issues, the HLG said that all the issues will be examined and needful will be done as per norms.
A delegation led by Mohd Ismail, a BJP Youth Leader Saliskot called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and presented a memorandum of demands including construction of tunnel from Dandal Thang Drass to Lassar La Faroona, construction of NH road from Dandal Thang, Drass to Lasar La and other issues of the area.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor assured them that all the issues and demands will be examined and needful will be done as per rules.
A delegation from KVK Kargil called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and requested to expedite the transfer status of the four Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s (KVKs) in Union Territory of Ladakh, originally established under SKUAST-Kashmir.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Secretary, School Education, Ladakh, Bhanu Prabha (IAS) to follow up the case.
A delegation of residents of Chutumail, Kargil called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and requested for construction of a canal damaged by a landslide in 1988. The HLG directed the DC Kargil to survey the village and do needful as per rules.
A delegation of Daily Wagers called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and requested for the implementation of new drafted policy regarding daily wagers. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor assured them that the needful will be done as per the rules.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor also interacted with various other delegations and individuals from across the district including officials of various departments and other individuals seeking financial assistance. He gave a patient hearing to all their issues and said that their genuine demands will be looked into as per norms within specific time-lines.
