He said that the Kargil Congress Committee did their best to get the mandate for Kargil district but they spoiled their case by giving mandate to National Conference’s District President instead of proposing a congress candidate. He said that proposing a candidate from another party is unacceptable and unreasonable for the party.
Jora said that if Kargil congress had chosen its candidate from within the members of the Congress party we would have accepted that. As congress mandate is not always fix for Leh but Kargil congress also has the equal right to aspire for the mandate but did wrong by giving mandate to NC.
He said that in Kashmir congress has given three seats to NC, as per the INDIAN Alliance agenda, but INC has not given its symbol to NC. Further he added that as per records congress mandate was always given to Leh congress and this time the Kargil congress had great chance to get the mandate, but they spoiled it.
While reflecting upon the tradition of Congress party he said that when we were part of J&K State, three Kashmir seat goes to Muslims, two goes to Hindus of Jammu, and one to Buddhist of Ladakh. Because congress believes in inclusiveness and for the Buddhist representation in the Parliament, Leh is the only option in whole India for Buddhist representation.
