Majalis-e-Aza Held Across Kargil to Commemorate Ayyam-e-Fatimiya
Kargil, November 05/ VOL News Desk/ In observance of Ayyam-e-Fatimiya—the days marking the martyrdom anniversary of the beloved daughter of the Prophet (PBUH), Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA)—majalis-e-aza (mourning gatherings) were held with great reverence and devotion across Kargil district today.
Central mourning programs were organized by the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), Jamiat-ul-Ulama Isna Ashariya Kargil, and Zainabia Women Welfare Society. Large congregations of scholars, women, and mourners attended the gatherings held at Jamia Masjid Kargil, the premises of Islamia School, and Zainabia Hall, Haidery Mohalla.
The majalis organized by Jamiat-ul-Ulama Isna Ashariya and Zainabia Women Welfare Society began at 10:30 a.m. and continued until noon, while the IKMT’s program was held after Namaz-e-Zuhrain.

During their sermons, the scholars highlighted the pious life, moral virtues, and exemplary character of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA), emphasizing her pivotal role in the spiritual and moral upbringing of women. The speakers noted that the life of Bibi Fatima Zahra (SA) serves as a guiding light for all women, and that adherence to her teachings can help build a righteous, dignified, and value-based society.
The scholars also expressed profound sorrow while recounting the tragic circumstances of her martyrdom. The gatherings concluded with noha khwani (lamentation) and matam (mourning rituals) as mourners paid heartfelt tributes to the Lady of Light.
Similar commemorative programs were held in other sub-divisions of the district. In Sankoo Sub-Division, Anjuman-e-Inqilab-ul-Mehdi and Anjuman-e-Sahib-uz-Zaman organized separate majalis, where scholars reflected upon the life and martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA).
It is noteworthy that since the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ayyam-e-Fatimiya has been observed annually around the world, where believers commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA) through majalis and mourning gatherings held with deep reverence and devotion.
