VoL Desk, Jan. 25: Commissioner/ Secretary (CS), General Administration Department Ajeet Kumar Sahu announced the grant of the 3rd State Awards on Republic Day, 2023 to persons and organisations for their contributions in various fields.

The CS in an Order No. :-24-LA(GAD) of 2023 today read, “Sanction is hereby accorded to the grant of 3rd State Awards on the occasion of Republic Day, 2023, in favor of the following person(s) /organization(s) in the fields as indicated against each”.

The State awardees for the year 2023 are: Shri Kacho Asfandyar Khan R/o Yokma Kharbo, Kargil in the field of Literature, Art and Craft, Dr. Nordan Otzer R/o Leh for Social Reforms, Empowerment and Environment Protection, Dr. Zakir Hussain, Block Veterinary Officer, Kargil, Sheep Husbandry Department with Additional Charge of Deputy Registrar Cooperative Kargil, R/o Dass, Kargil for Public Service (Gazetted Category), Smt. Tsering Dolma, Weaving Assistant (Retired), Handloom Department, Leh R/o Choglamsar, Leh for Public Service (Gazetted Category), Ladakh Police (Provision Branch) Headed by Shri Sonam Dechen, JKPS, AIG, Ladakh for Public Service (Organization), Shri Jigmat Tharchin, R/o Tia, Leh for Sports (Mountaineering), and M/s Namza, Zangsti Road, Leh for Entrepreneurship (Organization).

The above Awardee(s) shall be presented with Cash Award of Rs. 51,000/, a medal and a citation in a function to be organized separately.

Pertinently, on the eve of Republic Day 2023, Kushok Thiksey Nawang and Chamba Stanzin were conferred with the Padma Shri Awards by the President of India while SSP (AIG of Police) Stanzin Nurboo and Inspector Ghulam Ali were awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services.

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan in his message extended congratulations to all the distinguished persons whose services have been commended in the form of various awards like the Padma Shri 2023, President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services, UT Ladakh 3rd State Awards 2023 and the Head of Police, UT Ladakh Commendation Medal & Certificate. The CEC said that the conferment of these prestigious awards will not only acknowledge the exemplary efforts of the awardees in their respective fields but will also encourage others to do their best in their respective domains. He said that these awardees will be role models for all concerned in their respective fields.
