L-GLTF Felicitates Newly Appointed Teachers
Kargil/ Jan. 03: Chief Executive Councillor, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan said that teachers are without a pinch of doubt the most important members of society who give children the right guidance and purpose and further inspire in them the passion and determination to succeed in life.
The CEC stated this while addressing teachers during a felicitation cum welcome ceremony in honor of the newly selected General Line Teachers (GLTs) of Education Department Kargil which was organized by the Ladakh General Line Teachers’ Forum (L-GLTF) at Language Center New Academy Complex here today where he was the chief guest.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary was the guest of honor on the occasion while Chief Education Officer, Kargil Nazir Ahmad Wani was the special guest.

CEC Khan while congratulating the newly selected teachers extended them warm welcome for their prospective teaching assignment which he termed as the most noble profession and asserted on them that they should be proud to have come through a fair recruitment process, adding that the DC Kargil and his team deserve all applause and appreciation for having ensured a fair and transparent recruitment process of all categories of posts including the GLTs.
Highlighting the role of teachers in nation building, CEC Khan said that teachers have the ability to shape leaders of the future in the best way for society to build positive and inspired future generations and therefore design society, both on a local and global scale.
The CEC said that teachers need to understand the sanctity of their job and deliver their services with dedication and commitment to attain the dignity and status they deserve in society. He said that it is heartening to see that there are dedicated teachers who are serving students voluntarily on their own expenses and are also giving their hundred percent which has also yielded positive results on ground in the shape of the Pilot Government schools in the district.
The CEC asserted the teachers to use a community mobilization system to ensure better upbringing and education of children.
CEC Khan assured the members of L-GTF that all issues related to service matters and other genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned authorities for redressal.
DC Kargil, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary in his address also congratulated the new joiners and conceded that in whatever shape and progress a society takes on different levels, the credit goes to the teachers. He added that teacher is responsible for shaping the moral values of a society and is the backbone to ignite young minds to be the successful citizens of tomorrow.
The DC said that a teacher should first work hard and in return of it he gets respect and love. He said that a teacher is not only responsible for imparting academics but other numerous values as well.
In reality, teachers have the most important job in the world. Those who have an impact on the children of society have the power to change lives. Not just for those children themselves, but for the lives of all, the DC added.
Chief Education Officer Nazir Ahmad Wani addressing the new joiners congratulated them and assured that all genuine demands of teachers will be taken up with the higher authorities for resolution in a phased manner. Regarding transfer policy he said that the CEO Office will soon submit a proposal to the District Administration.
Meanwhile, the CEC and DC Kargil felicitated the CEO Kargil on behalf of L-GLTF.
DC Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary led the dignitaries and participants in reading out the ten oaths of the Former President of India A.P.J Abdul Kalam for teachers of the country.
Earlier, Member Secretary, Zone Shargole Shamim Ahmad welcomed all the new teachers and the guests of the occasion while President L-GLTF Mustafa Kamal welcomed the new joiners and raised several issues of the teacher fraternity of Kargil.
The President L-GLTF also presented a memorandum to the guests on the occasion and sought the intervention of the CEC, DC and CEO, Kargil to address various issues including anomaly in pay band/grade pay/level, redressal of 7th pay arrear issue of NPS employees, stagnated promotional avenues, non-practicing allowance (NPA), implementation of transfer policy and other related issues.
Among others who were present on the occasion included OSD to Director Education Gulzar Hussain Danish, Project Coordinator LEDeG Ajaz Hussain Munshi, Zonal Education Officer Shargole Mehfooz Ali, Headmasters of different schools besides the newly appointed teachers were present on the occasion.
Marziya Banoo, Teacher conducted the proceedings of the programme.
