Government Boys Higher Secondary School Kargil Concludes 4-Day Educational Tour to Kashmir Valley
Kargil, June 25, 2025 – The four-day exposure-cum-educational tour of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Kargil to the Kashmir Valley came to a successful end on Tuesday. The tour, which began on June 21, 2025, aimed to expose students to the rich cultural heritage, educational programs, and historical landmarks of the valley.
During the tour, students visited iconic destinations, including: Sonamarg and Gulmarg, where they enjoyed breathtaking scenery and stayed overnight in Gulmarg. The students also visited Maharajah Palace, Astronomy Lab, and Golf Course, gaining insights into history, science, and sports.
Among other destinations covered in the tour were Dal Lake, Anantnag, and other famous tourist spots, experiencing local culture. The students also got to see the Betaab Valley, Phalgam River, and Rafting sites, enjoying adventure activities.

The tour was made possible through the generous support of the Ministry of Youth & Sports, J&K, and the Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM). Mr. Satish Sharma provided free accommodation for over 150 students at Gulmarg, while Col. Thapa (Principal, IISM) and Asst. Director Ma’an Bahram facilitated hostel arrangements.
The Principal of GHSS Kargil, Mr. Tsewang Dorjay expressed heartfelt gratitude to MP Ladakh, Hanifa Jan, Minister J&K Youth Affairs, Mr. Satish Sharma, Principal IISM, Col. Thapa and Assistant Director, Mrs Bahram for their support for the tour. The school administration further thanked all involved for making this educational excursion memorable for the students.
