CEC takes on spot assessment of damaged irrigation canals of Thuvina village 

Kargil, June 29: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon took on spot assessment of various damaged water irrigation canals of village Thuvina.

The CEC was accompanied by Chief Engineer PHE and I&FC Ladakh Maqbool Husain, SVD Sankoo, Executive Engineer I&FC, Executive Engineer PMGSY, besides AEEs and JEEs of respective departments were present during the visit.

During his visit, local in habitants of village Thuvina informed the CEC about damage of Bakear irrigation canal which is the main source of irrigation of agriculture land of the whole village.

The CEC Dr Jaffer directed the concerned officers of the department to immediately restore the damaged canal at the earliest. He also said that the funds for the repair of canal will be provided from his own constituency fund on immediate basis to ease the problems.

CEC Kargil took assessment of the damaged irrigation canal of I&FC from the Exen. He informed the CEC that the ongoing canal is under languishing scheme and funds are also available in the scheme.

The CEC Kargil directed the concerned officer to restore the whole patch of damaged canal at every spot and make the canal functional at the earliest.

The villagers also informed the CEC about the damage of irrigation pipeline of Chulungs. The CEC Kargil directed the concerned AEE to repair the pipeline and make it functional. The residents of Mohallah Yostot requested the CEC for a separate water pipeline for the Mohallah.

The CEC Kargil assured the locals to look into the matter and will do needful at the earliest. He also gave a patient hearing to demands of locals regarding dysfunctional of Gongstab lift irrigation pump. The concerned AEE informed the CEC that due to the blockage at the bottom some technical issue has occured. The CEC directed the concern AEE to inform the agency immediately to make the lift irrigation functional.

CEC Kargil also inspected the newly constructed bridge at Thuniva village, which was constructed under the CRIF scheme at the cost of 6.5 crores (approximately)

SVD Sankoo informed the CEC that construction work of the bridge is already complete whole the remaining works are pending which will be also completed at the earliest.

The CEC directed SVD Sankoo to complete the remaining works between 20-25 July, so that the inauguration ceremony will be held in the presence of Honorable LG Ladakh Brigadier (Dr) B.D Mishra.

Meanwhile, the CEC also visited the proposed site of construction of new building for Government Middle School Thuvina. He requested the villagers to cooperate in the construction of the new building. He also said that the foundation stone ceremony of the construction new school building will be held soon. He also directed the concerned officer of PDD to install electric pole at the vicinity of the school immediately.
