CEC attends religious ceremony organized by Buddhist Community Wakha, Mulbekh
Kargil, June 19: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon participated in a religious ceremony organized by the Buddhist community of Wakha, Mulbekh.
The religious ceremony was also graced by his holiness Skyabgong Chaychang Rinpoche. During the ceremony Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Mohammed Hanifa Jan; Executive Councillor Er Punchock Tashi; Counsellor Shargole Constituency Mohammed Javed; monks, and nuns from different Gompas, devotees cultural artist besides local residents of wakha Mulbekh and adjoining villages were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEC Kargil thanked the organizing committee for inviting him for the religious ceremony.

While reiterating the teachings of His holiness Dalai Lama of peace and brotherhood, CEC Kargil said that Kargil is one of the good examples for communal harmony and prosperity in the country.
The CEC also recalled his interaction with his holiness Dalai Lama during his service as a doctor. He said he is blessed that he got blessings from his holiness Dalai Lama and he always cherishes those moments.
CEC Kargil also said that he will do an extensive tour to Wakha Mublek and other villages with the district officers to address the grievances and other development issues.
He hailed the efforts of the cultural artist for preserving the cultural identity. The CEC announced Rs 3 lakh for the cultural artist for the purchase of necessary cultural instruments. He said he will provide this amount through the Cultural Academy Kargil as soon as possible.
Member of Parliament for Ladakh, Mohammad Hanifa Jan, expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee for inviting him to the auspicious ceremony. He also thanked Skyabgong Chaychang Rinpoche for his blessings.
The MP Ladakh said Kargil has always been a harmonious community which provides equal space for different religious communities to exercise their religious practices with equality. He said Kargil and Leh will only develop if we will keep intact the teachings of his holiness Dalai Lama ji.
He also cited the example of recent Lok Sabha elections which were completed without any regional and religious sectarianism. He also thanked the people of Wakha, Mulbekh for extending their unwavering support. He said he will do and extensive tour to the whole Ladakh and will try to address the issues on priority basis.
