NISR Leh celebrates World Earth Day
Leh, April 23: The National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh celebrated World Earth Day at Trans Himalayan Herbal Garden of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, opposite Phey village on April 22.
The plantation drive began by planting Lycium ruthenicum (Goji Berry) plant by chief guest, Brij Mohan Sharma, Additional Principal, Chief Conservator of Forest and Guest of Honor Sajjad Hussain Mufti, Chief Conservator of Forest, Union Territory of Ladakh.
Director National Institute of Sowa Rigpa, Dr Padma Gurmet welcomed the guests and briefly explained about the Trans Himalayan Herbal Garden and World Earth Day.

Both the dignitaries appreciated the effort of National lnstitute of Sowa-Rigpa for establishment of Trans-Himalayan Herbal Garden with more than 100 plants species.
Additionally, it was also informed that the Director National lnstitute of Sowa-Rigpa, Dr. Padma Gurmet along with Officer, staff and students of National institute of Sowa-Rigpa have participated in day long plantation drive by planting large number of medicinal plants, shrubs and tree species on the occasion.
