SDM Zanskar visits Polling Stations ahead of Lok Sabha election
Kargil, March 23: In a proactive effort to ensure the smooth conduct of elections and provide essential amenities for voters, a team headed by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk, Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar, Mohd Hassan along with Block Development Officer (BDO) and Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) conducted inspections at several polling stations in the Subdivision.
Notably, the team visited Middle School Ubarak and Ufti Pibiting to assess the existing facilities like availability of ramp, sanitary facility, drinking water facility and electricity and address deficiencies if any.
During the inspection, it was observed that the provision of drinking water and toilet facilities, particularly for both male and female voters, required immediate attention.

Recognizing the importance of these amenities in facilitating a conducive voting environment, the team promptly directed the concerned departments to arrange adequate drinking water and sanitary facilities at both Middle School Padum Ubarak and Ufti Pibiting polling stations.
The directives issued by the inspection team underscore the commitment of the local administration to uphold democratic principles and ensure the participation of all eligible voters in the electoral process. By proactively addressing infrastructure needs, the authorities aim to enhance voter comfort and accessibility, thereby fostering greater engagement and inclusivity in the democratic process.
Furthermore, programs under SVEEP were also conducted at both the polling stations. SDM and AERO urged voters to exercise their franchise responsibly and contribute to the democratic fabric of the nation. They reaffirmed their dedication to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, wherein the rights of every citizen are safeguarded.
