AKTTA Honors Secretary tourism Kacho Mehboob for his Contributions in Tourism sector in Ladakh
Kargil, May 28: All Kargil Travel Trade Association (AKTTA) hosted a delightful lunch party at Hotel chutuk height to express gratitude and honour Secretary Tourism, UT Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan for his exceptional efforts and contributions for the tourism sector in Ladakh.
The event was held on 28-05-2023, provided an opportunity for AKTTA members to interact with the esteemed Secretary and gain insights into the upcoming tourism projects in the region.
During the gathering, Secretary Kacho Mehboob assured AKTTA members unwavering commitment to the development of tourism in Kargil. He announced several projects that are slated to commence in the coming months, highlighting the government’s focus on enhancing the tourism infrastructure and scope in the region.

The announced projects include Linkipal Ski Slope Development, construction of Gandola and chairlift facilities for a snow skiing resort, development and revitalization of Apo Bazar (Old Bazar) with traditional themes, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kargil, opening up Mushkoo Valley for tourism, conservation and promotion of the Astana at Youkma Kharboo, providing visitors with a glimpse into the historical significance of the region, development and preservation of the Chikten Khar heritage site, showcasing the architectural marvels and cultural heritage of Kargil.
The Secretary further announced installation of Astro Telescope at Kurbathang, and development of Light and Sound Show at Biamathang.
The Future Projects of the Tourism Department also include construction of a Glass Bridge (Skywalk) at Ashina, setting up a museum in Kargil, promoting winter tourism, identifying rafting points on Suru and Drass rivers, establishing a heritage trail in the south, and extending the Hunderman road till the last border.
Discussing the Swadesh darshan 2.0 project, the Secretary advised to take Hunderman village as a hertigae site.
Mr. Mohd Ali Rangyul, President of AKTTA, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Secretary Kacho Mehboob for his visionary leadership and dedication towards the tourism development in Kargil. He thanked the Secretary for initiating these mega projects that will undoubtedly transform the tourism landscape of the region and create new opportunities for growth and prosperity.
The lunch party served as a platform for fruitful discussions between AKTTA members and Commissioner Secretary Kacho Mehboob, fostering a spirit of collaboration and commitment towards realizing the shared vision of making Kargil a thriving and sustainable tourism destination.
