Kargil Student Selected for National Youth Parliament 2026–27
VOL News Desk/ Kargil — Zulikha Banoo, a fourth-semester student of the Department of Political Science at the Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh, has been selected to participate in the National Level Youth Parliament 2026–27.
She hails from Thasgam village in Sankoo Valley of Kargil district. According to official communication, she received the invitation through MY Bharat Ladakh under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Her selection follows her performance at the State Level Youth Parliament, where she was among the top participants. She will represent the Union Territory of Ladakh at the national event scheduled to be held in New Delhi from June 15 to 17, 2026.
Officials at the Kargil Campus acknowledged her selection and extended their best wishes. The campus administration, along with faculty members of the Department of Political Science, noted that such participation provides students with exposure to parliamentary practices and public policy discussions.
In a statement, the campus administration also appreciated the support extended by the university leadership in encouraging student participation in academic and co-curricular activities.
