Kargil, January 25/ VOL News Desk/ A contingent of athletes from the Union Territory of Ladakh participated in the 60th National Cross Country Championship, held at Ranchi, Jharkhand, on 24th January 2026. The championship witnessed participation from athletes representing various states and Union Territories across the country.

The Ladakh team competed in multiple categories, including Men Open 10 Km, Women Open 10 Km, Girls Under-18, and Boys Under-20 events, showcasing the growing presence and potential of long-distance runners from the region.

The team was selected and deputed under the aegis of the Athletics Association of UT Ladakh, with the objective of providing exposure to national-level competition and promoting athletics in the high-altitude region. Despite challenging climatic and geographical conditions at home, the athletes displayed commendable enthusiasm and determination on the national stage.
