Kargil, September 3: Hujjat-ul-Islam Dr. Syed Shabab Naqvi, the special representative of Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi in India, arrived in Kargil Tuesday to a warm welcome from followers of the Iranian Shia cleric.
As part of his visit, a grand seminar was organised today at Syed Mehdi Memorial Hall, Kargil. The event was attended by Chairman of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil, Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Sadiq Rajai; President of Anjuman Jamiatul Ulama Isna Ashariya Kargil, Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Nazir ul-Mehdi Mohammadi; senior clerics; and a large number of local community members.
Welcoming Dr. Naqvi, IKMT Chairman Sheikh Rajai described Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi as a steadfast supporter of the Islamic Revolution and the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In his keynote address, Dr. Naqvi lauded Kargil as a land of knowledge and conveyed Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi’s message to the gathering. He advised the community to pursue both religious education and modern sciences, stressing that unity and solidarity should remain their greatest strength.
Senior scholar Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Ali Naqi, himself a follower of Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, also addressed the audience and spoke on important jurisprudential issues. The programme was conducted by Sheikh Mohsin.
