DC Reviews Functioning of Health Department Kargil
KARGIL, MARCH 04, 2021: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting to review the functioning of Health Department. Kargil at DC Office here today.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Block Medical Officers of Sankoo, Drass, Shakar Chiktan, Zanksar, Medical Officers and other concerned officers of the department were present in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner Kargil on this occasion expressed satisfaction over the department’s progress and underlining the importance of the Health Sector as a priority sector for welfare of the common masses exhorted upon the officers to work with continued zeal and enthusiasm.
DC Santosh Sukhadeve directed the CMO Kargil to ensure 100 per cent testing and screening of the inbound passengers entering the district from Srinagar and Leh side.
He also stressed that out the total travellers entering into the district per day who will undergo rapid test, 50 per cent of them must also be tested through RTPCR before entering into the district.
Regarding the issue of vacancy of posts, the Deputy Commissioner said the matter it will be taken up with the UT Administration.
Earlier the CMO Kargil apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the status of human resource, infrastructure and on-going works of the department in the district.
He also informed the Deputy Commissioner that there is requirement of 15 Medical Officers at District Hospital Kargil while Pharmacists and Nurses are also required to deal with COVID-19 cases, adding he requested the DC for provision of supervisory vehicles for the BMOs.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the CMO appropriate measures will be taken to address the issues including the deployment of manpower in a phased manner.
