IKMT accord warm welcome to Baqirya
VoL Desk, Jan. 21: The Lieutenant Governor Ladakh, R K Mathur conferred Baqirya Health Care and Research Centre (BHC&RC) with the Ladakh State Award in the field of Social Reforms and Empowerment Protection here at Sindhu Sanskriti, Leh on Friday during the investiture ceremony.
The BHC&RC, which is the Health Wing of Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, Kargil, was awarded for its contribution in the field of health where it has emerged as a major health service provider after the Government health institutions.
Among its major health programmes, the Baqirya Health Care, started Hepatitis-B Free Kargil programme and conducted free multi-speciality medical camps across Kargil treating more than 50,000 patients.

The IKMT and public at different villages gave a warm welcome with traditional Khatak and tea to the President BHC&RC, Dr Ahmad Ali and General Secretary Mr Welayat Ali Mir during their return from Leh.
The IKMT also conducted a facilitation ceremony at Imam Khomeini Tower where the members of BHC&RC, IKMT Executive Body and members of different branches of IKMT attended and congratulated the BHC&RC for the prestigious award.
Speaking on the occasion, President Dr Ahmad Ali dedicated the award to all the donors, members and public who supported the BHC&RC financially, morally and voluntarily.
On the occasion, Chairman Guardian Council IKMT, Sheikh Mohammad Mohaqiq, General Secretary Haji Mohd Hussain Pushkumpa, Vice Chairman Religious Affairs, Sheikh Bashir Shakir, Ex President BHC&RC Dr Welayat Ali, and other speakers greeted the BHC&RC and wished the organisation for its future endeavour.
