Secretary Tourism chairs preparatory meeting for Bharat Parv Event at Lal Qila
Leh, January 14: Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department, Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan chaired a preparatory meeting to discuss UT Ladakh’s participation in the Bharat Parv Event at Lal Qila to showcase Ladakh’s cuisine, products, and culture from 26 January to 31 January 2023 as part of Republic Day Celebrations. Bharat Parv is a five-day festival organised by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to showcase the products, cuisine and culture of different states of India.
In this regard, the concerned officials deliberated on logistics for setting up of Food Stall (25 sq mtrs); Handicraft Stall (25 sq mtrs); State Theme Pavilion (50 sq mtrs), and cultural programmes amongst others.
The Secretary instructed the officers/officials of Tourism, Industries and Culture departments to make preparations immediately so that all the three stalls represent Ladakh in a grand way. The departments need to work in a coordinated manner and keep the Nodal Officer (Director, Tourism) informed about the preparations. The departments have to take possession of the stalls at Lal Qila from the Ministry of Tourism on 24th January, 2023. In order to prepare well the officers/officials have to be well before the event in Delhi so that Ladakh is presented in a better manner. The products, local cuisines, pavilions and cultural programmes have to be of best quality. The GoI expects every State/UT to represent their cuisine, products and culture in an impressive manner.

Director, Tourism, Ladakh, Kunzes Angmo, who is the Nodal Officer for UT Ladakh for the Bharat Parv Event 2023, stated that digital payments and environment-friendly measures like prevention of single-use plastic shall be promoted at the event as per the themes/requirements of Bharat Parv.
Furthermore, the Secretary discussed themes, food stall ideas, social media promotion, branding, Ladakh-centric activities, etc with the participants.
Concluding the meeting, the Secretary impressed upon the officials to ensure close coordination for seamless arrangements at the event.
The inaugural of the ‘Bharat Parv’ shall be on 26th January, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. and shall open to general public from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on 26th January, 2023 and from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. from 27th to 31st January, 2023.
The meeting was attended by Director (Tourism), Kunzes Angmo; JD, Industries Department, Lakshay Singhal; Under Secretary, Tourism & Culture; AD Handicraft; Deputy Secretary, Culture, Leh/Kargil; AD Tourism, Leh/Kargil and other concerned officials.
