Kargil United Over Issues, Demands – KDA
Kargil/ Jan. 09/ News Desk: In the aftermath of Home minister Amit Shah meet with Apex body from district Leh, veteran leaders from district Kargil, known as the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) renewed their demands in a press conference here in Kargil.
Veteran leader and ex MLA Asgar Ali Karbalai, while addressing the conference said that the agenda of KDA is clear. “We want the Govt. to restore the status of pre 05 August 2019 J&K State. If the government is serious and sincere for development of Ladakh we need full-fledged statehood.”
In this regard a meeting of Apex Body held with Home minister Amit Shah. The delegation was comprised of MP Ladakh, CEC Leh and members of the Apex body. The meeting came up with a press release that said that a committee would form to address and study the issues of Ladakh within a period of two month. Then action will take accordingly.

“People had apprehension and queries that whether KDA has received any such invitation from centre or not. We want to clear that we have not received any such invitation yet” added Karbalai.
“We want to clarify that the KDA is a full-fledged representation of all Kargil that is comprised of representatives from all political, religious, civil societies, merchant association, transport association and student bodies.
“Whenever the center invite we are ready for talks and to deliver our demand to the higher authorities”, concluded Karbalai.
Syed Ahmed Rizvi representing the Anjuman Sahib Zamaan said, “there are rumours that the KDA is not an actual and full-fledged representation of Kargil which is wrong. We whenever needed will jointly address and carry the issues of Kargil.”
Syed Mujtaba Counselor LAHDC Kargil condemned the rumours about KDA been propagated on various social media platforms.
Syed Muhammad Shah Al Mousavi representing the Noorbakhshia community said, “all agendas pertinent to Kargil will carry from this platform. There are attempts to betray and destroy the unity of the KDA.”
Sheikh Ali Naqi representing Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashriya Kargil in place of Sajid Kargili stressed “the KDA is a united group of all stakeholders of Kargil and KDA will lead Kargil in all issues.”
Haji Hussain secretary IKMT said that their organisation stands with the issues of Kargil since day first. The IKMT fully supports the KDA. There are attempts to destroy the image and unity of the alliance which is severely condemnable.
Mr Shahnawaz representative of Jamaat e Ahle Sunnat said, “this press conference has members from all stakeholders and groups of Kargil which reflects that whole Kargil is United for their cause.”
Sadiq Ali president Student Education Movement of Kargil said, “all the issues related to students fraternity are carried and discussed in the KDA.” He appealed to not pay heed on propaganda and rumours being spread on social media.
Ex CEC Haji Hanifa Jan who is also the joint secretary of the KDA said that the KDA should not worry for these rumours. Any allegation on KDA is an allegation on whole Kargil because it represents all the stake holders.
Hanifa Jan lashed the BJP Kargil Ex district President Mohammed Ali Majaz over misleading the public that KDA has invited them to observe Black day. However, there was no mention of word Black day. But the invitation was an attempt to include them in this group where whole Kargil was invited.
“These items are pre-planned conspiracy to suppress the voice of Kargil”, added Hanifa Jan.
Chairman KDA Haji Qambar Ali Akhone said that our priority agenda is to restore the Article 370 and statehood of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Second agenda is to provide full statehood for Ladakh.
“In this regard we deliberated with the Gupkar Alliance with whom we were on same page over two major issues. Later we discussed with the Apex Body Leh where the later consented on our demand for Statehood.”
“I want to clear that KDA is a complete representation of Kargil district and this alliance will speak and address all issues on behalf of Kargil.”
Asgar Karbalai deliberating on the BJP issue said that the BJP was invited to deliberate on the issues of Kargil on 5th August. However, the agenda to mark Black Day was not decided at the time of invitation.
Beyond this alliance we are not ready to talk to any group. All issues will address from this platform only.
