VoL Desk, Nov. 23: The Lieutenant Governor, Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur in a notification dated November 18, 2022 has appointed the members of the Ladakh Union Territory Hajj Committee.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 17 and sub-section (1) of section 18 of the Haj Committee Act, 2002 (Act No. 35 of 2002) read with rule 20 of the Haj Committee Rules, 2002, and in suppression of earlier notification(s) issued on the subject, the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh, hereby appoints the following as members of the Ladakh Union Territory Haj Committee for a period of 03 years from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette of General Administration Department, Union Territory of Ladakh”, read the notification.

The members are MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Councilor Chuchot constituency Mirza Hussain, Councillor Shargole constituency Mohd Ali Chandan, Mohd Ali Majaz, Ward Member, Municipal Committee, Kargil Zaheer Hussain Babar,  and Nazir Ahmed.

A Deputy Secretary level officer to be nominated by the Administration to act as Executive Officer Haj Committee shall also be an Ex-officio Member of the Committee and his term shall be till the officer is holding charge as Executive Officer, Ladakh Union Territory Haj Committee.
