GDC Drass organizes freedom walk under Har Ghar Tiranga
KARGIL, AUGUST 12, 2022: As part Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under the aegis of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, GDC Drass today organized a “Freedom Walk” from Kargil War Memorial to the college campus sponsored by Truck Union Kargil.
Principal GDC Drass Dr Amjad Ali Abassi flagged off the walk in which around 400 students along with faculty of the college participated enthusiastically.
He enlightened students about Kargil War and paid rich tribute to martyrs of the War. The principal said the walk is a commemoration and to pay respect to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their life for the nation.

Prior to the walk, senior officials of Indian army briefed about Kargil War, brave heroes, victory of the Indian army and commemorated the efforts and sacrifices of Indian soldiers in Kargil War.
He said that Kargil War is one of the greatest war fought by the Indian army in the second coldest inhabited place in the world adding that the pride and patriotism evidenced by the efforts of our soldiers is inestimable.
The purpose of the freedom walk was to remember the brave national heroes and to pay tribute to them. The students exhibited their patriotism by holding tricolour flags and singing patriotic songs throughout the walk. Moreover, the walk was also meant to create sense of patriotism among the students and to give the message to the common masses.
In the end, the principal applauded and expressed special thanks to Truck Union Kargil for sponsoring this event. He also thanked SDM Drass, SDH Drass, SHO Drass, media team, Principal Hr. Sec. School Drass, BDC members, Himalayan Sports and Cultural Development Organization and students for making the event successful.
