KARGIL, MARCH 22, 2022: District Program Officer, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Nargis Banoo today welcomed children at Anganwadi centre Minji Gound on the first day of its opening in Kargil district after a gap of almost two years.

The DPO informed that all the Anganwadi Centres in Kargil district have been opened except in snow-bound and harsh areas. On the occasion, the Anganwadi workers across the district welcomed the children with toffee and toys.

The DPO, ICDS was accompanied by concerned CDPO, Aga Syed Murtaza, Sarpanch, Panch and parents.

The DPO also launched a two-week-long awareness program from March 21 to April 04 on POSHAN Abhiyaan or National Nutrition Mission, a Government of India flagship program meant to improve nutritional outcomes of children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.

On the occasion, concerned CDPO and other nutrition experts informed the parents on health, hygiene, good food, behavior and treatment of children.
