Short term training in ‘Guest House Caretaker’ to commence from April
March 18, 2022: The ‘Ladakh Skill Development Mission’ (LSDM) under PMKVY 3.0 Special Project (CSCM) will be conducting Short Term Training (STT) in the job role of ‘Guest House Caretaker’.
The STT will be conducted by the training partner Tata STRIVE with the cooperation of the Tourism Department and Technical Education & Skill Development Department, Ladakh.
The homestay project beneficiaries of the Tourism Department and other interested youth will be imparted training at decentralised locations in Leh and Kargil.

A meeting was held today by Commissioner/Secretary Technical Education and Skill Development Department, Padma Angmo to chalk out the modalities to onboard the trainees and infrastructure facilities at the decentralised locations. She asked the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to facilitate the conduct of quality training in this important sector which has the potential to generate employment and a good source of income for rural households.
Briefing the Tata STRIVE team, Secretary Tourism and Culture, Mehboob Ali Kacho emphasised that the Tourism Department is committed to promoting rural tourism and the proposed training is a crucial step towards preparing the rural folks towards extending the best hospitality to the tourists.
The Administration has been laying emphasis on expanding tourism beyond the regular tourist circuit and has taken various initiatives in promoting rural tourism.
The Ladakh Skill Development Mission is taking up a series of skill training programmes to promote skill-building, self-employment and entrepreneurship development. The VC meeting was attended by the Tata STRIVE team and officials of NSDC.
