KARGIL, AUGUST 20, 2021: Baqirya Health care and Research Centre (BHC&RC) IKMT Kargil established medical aid centre equipped with 8 beds for the first time to augment the services of the health department Kargil during Moharram. The organization successfully concluded 10 days of Moharram Medical camp at Hussaini Park Kargil.

The organization provided services like free medicine and masks to thousands of devotees. Baqirya provided sanitizing machines foot operated along with surgical mask facility at Hussaini Park both at male and female entry points to ensure Covid protection Protocol.

BHC&RC in collaboration with Baseej e Imam IKMT carried out voluntary Blood donor screening simultaneously in the camp wherein over 250 voluntary donors were registered for blood donation in emergency as and when needed, and six rare groups of Rh-Negative subjects were identified and this was carried out by Baqirya’s own clinical Laboratory.

In addition, services of the Four Basic Life Support Ambulances were also made available throughout Muharram ten days at Hussaini Park and Baroo and in particular on the eve of International Ali Asgar Day. Further, on the request of the Health Department, these ambulances were put on duty under CMO Kargil on 9th and 10th Moharram.

In the meantime, two cleft lip patients were also shifted to Srinagar Khyber medical institute on 16th August for corrective surgery by BHC&RC and after successful operation both have been discharged from hospital. The next batch of Cleft lip and palate patients shall be dispatched within next few days as per their roster already issued.

President BHC and RC Dr Wilayat and VP Dr Ooliyat congratulated the doctors, paramedics and volunteers of Baqirya for accomplishing this event successfully and thanked their selfless service to humanity while talking to a press brief. Dr Ghulam Mohd Paediatrician and senior member Baqirya while talking to the media applauded the activities carried out by Baqirya with the help of our general public and the efforts put in by the volunteers and stressed the younger generation to follow the path and the footprint of Imam Hussain (as).
