Central Administrative Tribunal, Srinagar bench concludes 2nd circuit sitting in Kargil of the calendar year 2026
Kargil, July 16, 2026/ VOL News Desk/ The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Srinagar Bench conducted its 2nd three-day Circuit Sitting of 2026 that concluded today on 16th July 2026 at TFC, Kargil.
The initiative aims to resolve service matters locally, providing government employees of Kargil easier access to justice. This initiative is aimed at providing justice at the door step.
The Division Bench of CAT, comprising of Hon’ble Mr. M. S Latif, Member Judicial /(HOD), and Hon’ble Mr. Prasant Kumar, Member, Administrative held a Circuit Bench in Kargil in hybrid mode, allowing cases to be heard both physically and virtually for greater accessibility.

During the three days of circuit sitting at Kargil the total number of cases listed before the Hon’ble Bench were 82, out of which 16 cases were finally disposed off and 3 cases were reserved for orders. During this period a total number of 12 cases were filed afresh before the Hon’ble Bench as per the information provided by Mr. Avinash Mishra, Court officer.
The proceedings saw active participation and coordination among Law Officers and Associate Law Officers representing various departments and directorates. Their efforts ensured adherence to the directions of the Bench and provided support to Tahir Majid Shamsi, Deputy Solicitor General of India, and Faizan Ahmad Ganie, Central Government Counsel, during the hearings.
Arrangements for the Bench sitting were facilitated by Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, along with support from various line departments.
