Late Hajiya Fatima Sports Fest 2026 Concludes at Jamia Nagar, New Delhi

VOL News Desk/ The second phase of the Annual Late Hajiya Fatima Sports Fest 2026, organised by the All Kargil (Ladakh) Students’ Association Delhi (AKSAD), successfully concluded with the Cricket Tournament finals at Jamia Nagar, New Delhi, on 7 February 2026.

The final match featured a competitive clash between Himalayan Hawks and Team TSG. Batting first, Team TSG set a target of 71 runs, which was successfully chased by Himalayan Hawks, securing the tournament title.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Abid Hussain, Assistant Professor, Jamia Millia Islamia, along with Feroz Rabbani, Advisory Head, and Attullah Khan, Member of the Advisory Board. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Abid Hussain congratulated the participants and emphasized the importance of balancing academics with sports for holistic student development.

The winning team, Himalayan Hawks, was awarded a trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize of ₹10,000, while the runner-up, Team TSG, received a trophy, silver medals, and a cash prize of ₹7,000 in recognition of their commendable performance.

Individual awards were also presented. Syed Jaffer (Himalayan Hawks) received a ₹500 cash prize for scoring the most runs (71 runs), while Ahmad Ali (Team TSG) was awarded *500 for being the highest wicket-taker with 7 wickets. Medals were also awarded for outstanding contributions to Javed Iqbal (Finance Secretary), Villayat Ali (Umpire), Zaheer Abbas (Scorer), Ali Kazimi (Sports Secretary), and Irfan Nabi (Umpire).

The tournament witnessed participation from nine teams: NV United, United Soth, Elmee 11, Team TSG, Himalayan Hawks, OCD, Friends Pashkum, Young Era Shingo Drass, and Team 107. The semi-finals were contested between Friends Pashkum vs Himalayan Hawks and Team TSG vs Elmee 11, with Himalayan Hawks and Team TSG advancing to the final.

Concluding the two-day event, Mohammad Ibrahim, President of AKSAD, expressed sincere gratitude to all players, volunteers, and guests for their support and cooperation in ensuring the successful conduct of the tournament.
