Srinagar – Kargil Road open for Traffic
KARGIL, APRIL 20, 2021: The Border Roads Organization (BRO) authorities have today successfully re-connected the Zojila Pass as committed by them to the Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan during his visit to the Zojila Pass on Monday.
On the occasion, CEC Feroz Ahmed Khan has commended the tireless efforts been put by the teams of Project VIJAYAK and BEACON in snow clearance operations despite in hospitable weather conditions.
“It is solely due to the assiduous efforts of the BRO authorities, Project VIJAYAK and BEACON that despite such heavy snowfall both sides of the pass have been connected today. All the machine operators, the dozer and snow cutter drivers, the labourers and the officers of BRO deserve all appreciation and applaud for this feat.”

Meanwhile, the CEC has expresses gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur for taking up the issue for expediting the snow clearance works on the Zojila axis with the Director General BRO.
With the opening up of the Zojila Pass, the prevailing crisis of essential commodities in Kargil is expected to be resolved and the general public will get relief, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.
