Drass, July 21, 2025:
A grand and spiritually enriching religious procession was held in Drass to mark the solemn eve of the Shahadat of Imam Zainul Abideen (A.S.), the revered fourth Imam of the Ahlulbayt (A.S.). The event witnessed an inspiring turnout of around 6000 to 7000 mourners from across District Kargil, who came together to honor the legacy of the Imam and express their devotion through mourning rituals and remembrance.

The procession was organized under the banner of Jamiatul Ulama Isna Ashariya Kargil (JUIAK) and was efficiently coordinated by Darultablegh Drass. The mourners, including a large number of women (approximately 1500 female participants), walked in solemn procession while reciting elegies and nohas, paying homage to the unmatched patience and spiritual strength of Imam Zainul Abideen (A.S.).

A deeply moving Majlis was delivered at Darultablegh Drass by Sheikh Nazirul Mehdi, President of JUIAK, who highlighted the Imam’s role in preserving the message of Karbala through his prayers, resilience, and teachings. His sermon stirred deep reflection among the gathered devotees.

As part of the event, refreshments and juices were served by the students of Maktabe Darultablegh Drass, reflecting a spirit of humility and service. Later, Tabaruk (sacred meal) was respectfully distributed among all participants, ensuring full inclusion and hospitality.

At the conclusion of the program, Sheikh Hussain Khan Baramo extended his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all participants, devotees, volunteers, and the local administration for their active involvement and support in ensuring the event’s smooth, dignified, and peaceful conduct.

The program was a powerful reminder of the enduring message of truth, patience, and resistance embodied by Imam Zainul Abideen (A.S.), and it strengthened the collective spiritual identity and unity of the community.
