Kargil, April 30, 2025: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today officially launched Power Development Department’s SMS-based power billing system for Kargil district.

Executive Councillor Social Welfare, Aga Syeed Mujtaba Mussavi, Executive Councillor, Rural Development, Er. Punchok Tashi, Executive Councillor, I&FC, Kacho Mohd Feroz, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Councillor Town, Chief Project Engineer, PDC Kargil, Executive Engineer, M&RE PDD Kargil, Executive Engineer, STD Kargil, along with representatives from RECPDCL, and private implementing agencies Inventives and Polaris were present.

On the occasion, the CEC asked the officers of PDD and respective agencies to ensure early redressal of public grievances regarding billing discrepancies. He hoped that this system would greatly benefit residents of Kargil by simplifying power bill management process.

The SMS-based billing initiative is a step forward in enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in electricity bill notifications, ensuring that consumers across Kargil district receive timely updates and billing information directly on their mobile phones.
