JUIAK Announces Tree Plantation Drive, Appeals for Public Participation

Kargil, April 7: The President of Anjuman Jamiatul Ulama Asna Ashriya Kargil, Sheikh Nazir Mahdi Mohammadi, announced the launch of a district-wide tree plantation campaign during a press conference on Sunday. He stated that the campaign will run in phases from April 8 to May 4.

Sheikh Nazir Al-Mahdi urged the people of Kargil to actively participate in the drive and treat tree plantation as both a national and religious responsibility. He emphasized that afforestation is the most effective way to combat current environmental challenges, warning that future generations could face severe consequences if immediate action is not taken.

He further mentioned that the campaign was originally scheduled to be inaugurated by Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Dr. B.D. Mishra, but due to his engagements in Delhi, he could not attend. However, following the LG’s instructions, the plantation drive will proceed as planned.
