Leh, February 10, 2025 :Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, felicitated Nawang Namgail from Chemday, who successfully completed a grueling 365 day Ice Bath Challenge. Nawang, a Physical Education Research Scholar at the University of Ladakh, took on this unique challenge to immerse himself in cold water every day for few minutes for an entire year, this practices is believed to be beneficial for health. He uses freezer during the summer and the Indus River, along with other cold water sources, during the winter.

During the felicitation, CEC Tashi Gyalson praised Nawang for his dedication and determination, noting that this challenge not only tested physical endurance but also mental strength. “Nawang’s achievement is a true reflection of his perseverance and commitment,” said Gyalson. However CEC suggested others not to attempt without proper guidance and advice from experts.

Also present at the felicitation were Hon’ble Executive Councilor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, DC/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve, Pamamik Councillor Tsering Sangdup, Former CEC Gyal P Wangyal; Director Health Tashi Thinles and Chemday Goba, all of whom extended their congratulations to Nawang for his remarkable achievement.
