CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon Attends Book Launch of Yaseen Ansari.

Kargil, January 25: Dr. Jaffer Akhoon, Chief Executive Councillor Kargil, attended the book launch ceremony for Yaseen Ansari’s latest works, kalam-i-Shina and Bazm-e-Ansari. The event was held at the Cultural Academy Hall in Kargil. Dr. Akhoon was the Chief Guest at the event, which was also attended by Councillor Chuliskamboo Altaf Hussain, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil Liyaqat Ali, President of AKTTA (All Kargil Travel and Trade Association) Ali Rangyul, and several prominent poets and literary enthusiasts.
During the event, Dr. Akhoon highlighted the significance of preserving and promoting local languages, which play a vital role in maintaining cultural identity and heritage. He shared that in a recent meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), he had proposed making Purgi and Balti the primary languages of the region, while Shina and Dardi should be recognized as secondary languages.

Dr. Akhoon praised Yaseen Ansari for his dedication to literature and the preservation of regional languages through his writings. To support such initiatives, the CEC announced a grant of ₹5 lakh for the organization involved in promoting local literature and culture.
Councillor Altaf Hussain also appreciated Yaseen Ansari’s contributions and offered ₹20,000 as a gesture of encouragement. Similarly, the President of AKTTA, Ali Rangyul, presented ₹30,000 as a token of appreciation for Ansari’s work.
The event was a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Kargil and underscored the importance of fostering literary efforts that preserve and promote the region’s languages and traditions.
