DC Kargil visits Sankoo, Taisuru blocks, listens to public grievances
KARGIL, MARCH 19, 2021: In order to take stock of developmental activities besides to listen to the grievances and developmental needs of the people, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve visited Sankoo and Taisuru blocks here today.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, Tehsildars of Sankoo and Tai Suru, Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil, Executive Engineers of PHE, I&FC, PDD, REW, SVD Sankoo, Project Director KREDA besides other district and sub divisional officers accompanied the DC during the tour.
The Deputy Commissioner held public grievance redressal camps at Sankoo and Tai Suru where he interacted with various public delegations to know about their issues, grievances, demands and developmental needs.
DC Santosh Sukhadeve also visited BDO Office Sankoo where he inaugurated the renovated office of the BDC Chairperson Sankoo. He also laid the foundation stone of newly constructed BDC and BDO office building at Taisuru which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lacs under SDP.
During the public darbars held at PWD Rest House Sankoo and Tourist Dak Bungalow Tai Suru ,delegations of the locals comprising of the Councillor Lankarchey, Councillor Parkachik, BDC Chairperson Tai Suru, BDC Chairperson Sankoo, Sarpanchs, Panchs and Namberdars of Sankoo, Tai Suru and the adjoining villages briefed the DC about different issues pertaining to the their areas which mainly included settlement of land compensation cases, deployment of medical staff at CHC Sankoo and other health centres, establishment of tourist view point in the area, deployment of teachers at various schools, augmentation of water supply, installation of transformers, establishment of solar and mini hydel projects and other related demands.
DC Santosh Sukhadeve gave a patient hearing to all the public delegations and individuals and assured them of suitable follow up in case of each issue and grievance. In case of certain demands, the DC gave on spot directions to the concerned officers to take immediate necessary measures for redressal.
Addressing the public delegations, the Deputy Commissioner said that it is quite overwhelming to see that all the delegations are unanimously concerned about various issues of their areas particularly the education sector. He assured the locals that requisite steps would be taken to address the issues in a phased manner while certain issues will be taken up with the UT Administration at the earliest possible.
Regarding the problem of vacancy of Teachers and Lecturers, DC Santosh Sukhadeve said that a rationalisation policy of Teachers and students will be implemented soon.
Making mention of the steps being taken to address the crisis of water supply, the Deputy Commissioner said that under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Government of India is committed to provide water facilities to every household. He said that in this regard 10,000 households of the district will be covered under the scheme during the financial year 2021-22 and by 2023 all households will be covered in Kargil district and provided with functional household tap connections (FHTCs), adding he urged the public representatives to extend support in solving land disputes so that public can get maximum benefits of the scheme.
DC Santosh Sukhadeve visited SDM Office Sankoo where the SDM Sankoo briefed about various activities of the department. He apprised some issues of the department which included requirement of Naib Tehsildar and field staff, adding he also demanded the DC for installation of electric transformer and submersible pump at the office premises.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to take necessary measures for installation of transformer and submersible pump. He also said that other issues will also be considered for suitable follow up.
Meanwhile, DC Santosh Sukhadeve also visited Government Higher Secondary School Putikchay and took stock of its overall functioning. He also visited 1 Megawatt Mini Hydel Project of KREDA at Chillung where the Project Director KREDA briefed him about the status of power supply to the local population from the project.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited PHC Panikhar where the Councillor Parkachik demanded for installation of separate transformer for the health centre.
DC Santosh Sukhadeve gave on spot directions to the Executive Engineer PDD to prepare a proposal in this regard. He also took brief from the BMO Tai Suru about the status of COVID-19 vaccination in the area.
The BMO briefed that the vaccination has almost been completed in respect of Healthcare and Frontline Workers while in case of persons of 60 and above 60 and people above 45 years with comorbidities, 100 per cent vaccination has been achieved.
