Tragic School Bus Accident in Durbuk Claims Six Lives, Injures 19
Leh, August 22: In a tragic incident, a school bus from Lamdon School met with an accident near Durbuk, resulting in the death of six people and injuries to 19 others. The Deputy Commissioner of Leh confirmed the news while addressing the media. The injured have been admitted to the Army and CHC Tangtse healthcare centers.
The bus was carrying approximately 25 passengers, including two children and several staff members, and was en route to Durbuk to attend a staff member’s wedding when it plunged into a deep gorge near Durbuk mode.
The administration has deployed three helicopters to transport the injured to the District Hospital in Leh. Rescue efforts were swiftly initiated by the Indian Army, Ladakh Police, Revenue Department officials, and local residents, who worked together to transfer the injured to healthcare facilities.
