Kargil – Police resuced Nepali Man After Suicide Attempt in Suru River

VoL Desk, August 19: A Nepali man was rescued by the Ladakh Police after he attempted to end his life by jumping into the Suru River near the New Omni Van Stand at Kabadi Nallah, Kargil, earlier today.

The incident came to light when a local resident, Mohd Hussain, witnessed the man jumping from the railing into the river. Hussain quickly alerted the authorities, prompting a swift response from the police.

Led by the Incharge of Police Post bazar SI Tsering Norboo the police team acted promptly and successfully rescued the man near Jaffaria School. The Nepali man sustained minor injuries during the incident and has been referred to the District Hospital Kargil for treatment.

The reasons behind the suicide attempt are believed to be personal, though further details are still awaited as the investigation continues. The swift action by the Ladakh Police has been widely appreciated by the local community.
