National Girl Child Day Held at GHS Shargole
Kargil, Jan 24: The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project Shargole organized the National Girl Child Day at Government High School Shargole.
Speakers talked about the importance of National Girl Child Day and the need to eradicate social taboos. They encouraged reporting instances of domestic violence to concerned authorities. They also spoke about the rights of girls enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
CDPO Farida Batool, who presided over the event, said the ICDS Project Shargole is dedicated to community empowerment and gender equality. She emphasized on evolving role of women in decision making. The event concluded with the distribution of sanitary pads among the participants.
