Leh Apex Body Announces Delegates for Talks on Ladakh Issues with Central Government
VoL Desk, June 14: In response to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ call for talks on Ladakh issues, the Leh Apex Body held a press conference to announce the delegates who will represent the region in discussions with the Central Government. Chairman of the Apex Body, Thupstan Chewang, revealed the names of the representatives during the conference.
According to Chewang, the delegates from the Leh Apex Body will include Tsering Dorjay Lakruk, Vice President of LBA (Ladakh Buddhist Association), Rigzin Jora, former MLA and Congress leader, and Chewang himself. From the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), the representatives will be Asgar Ali Karbalai and Qambar Ali Akhone, Co-Chairmen of KDA, along with Sajjad Hussain Kargili, representing JUIAK.
Chewang expressed their commitment to discussing the four-point agendas of Ladakh during the upcoming meeting scheduled for June 19, 2023. He also emphasized their determination to continue the struggle until the fulfillment of Ladakh’s demands.

In a dual role representing both the KDA and the Apex Body, Chewang urged the general public of Ladakh to observe a fast and hold prayer congregations at religious places on the day of the meeting, aiming to garner support and achieve Ladakh’s agendas.
