Kargil, April 26, 2023: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve today chaired a meeting of district level committee to discuss Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) 2.0.

Project Manager IWMP/ACD Kargil, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, EXEN REW Kargil, Assistant Director Fisheries, District Social Welfare Officer, Senior Scientist SKUAST Kargil, Professor /Head KVK Kargil and other officials and members of the committee attended the meeting.

During the meeting, various action plans based on research and sustainability were discussed threadbare with the concerned officers.

The meeting discussed three major components under the banner of PMKSY 2.0 that include Natural Resource Management (NRM), Livelihood Activities and Production System and Micro Enterprise.

The meeting was aimed to promote diversified production/farming systems based livelihood activities/interventions and encourage farmers to adopt and up-scale successful experiences of proven technology, integrated farming systems and improved farming practises for livelihood augmentation.

The Deputy Commissioner who is also the chairman of district level committee of IWMP/PMKSY 2.0 approved the five DPRs of five projects in five Blocks of Kargil that were presented by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RD&PRD) in the meeting.

Some observations were also highlighted by the committee members that shall incorporate in the DPRs. It was also discussed that all the development plans replicating the optimum usage of natural resources and results in sustainability of environment shall be executed under the heads of committee.
