DIET Leh Concludes Four-Day SEE Learning Training Programme for PM SHRI School Educators
Leh, July 30/ VOL News Desk/ The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, successfully concluded a four-day Social, Emotional and Ethical (SEE) Learning training programme for Heads of Institutions (HOIs) and teachers of PM SHRI Schools, organised in collaboration with the Piramal Foundation from July 27 to July 30, 2026.
The workshop was aimed at enhancing the participants’ understanding of SEE Learning and equipping them with practical skills to foster compassionate, empathetic and ethically grounded learning environments in schools. A total of 36 participants successfully completed the training programme.
The sessions were conducted by certified SEE Learning facilitators, including Mr. Nishant Payal, Programme Manager, Piramal Foundation; Smt. Thinless Wangmoo, Senior Lecturer, Government Higher Secondary School Khalsi; and Smt. Tsering Angmo, Lecturer, DIET Leh.

The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Sh. S. D. Namgyal, Principal, DIET Leh, who congratulated the participants on successfully completing the training. He commended their active participation and encouraged them to effectively implement the principles of SEE Learning in their respective schools. He highlighted that while academic excellence remains important, equal emphasis must be placed on nurturing students’ emotional well-being and ethical development to ensure their holistic growth.
During the ceremony, certificates of successful completion were presented to all participants, while mementoes were awarded to the resource persons in recognition of their valuable contributions.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Tsering Yangdol, Head of Department, DIET Leh, congratulated the participants and urged them to become role models in promoting empathy, compassion, emotional awareness and ethical values through their classroom practices.
Principal Sh. S. D. Namgyal and HOD Smt. Tsering Yangdol also appreciated the continued support extended by the Piramal Foundation, particularly acknowledging the contributions of Mr. Nishant Payal in strengthening teacher capacity-building initiatives, including professional development through the DIKSHA platform and other educational support programmes.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Sh. Tsering Tundup, Senior Lecturer and Programme Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the Principal for his guidance and encouragement. He also thanked the resource persons for their dedicated efforts and appreciated the participants for their enthusiasm, discipline and commitment throughout the four-day workshop.
The programme also received continuous support from Sh. Zakir Hussain, Programme Leader, Piramal Foundation, who played an important role in ensuring its smooth and successful conduct.
The successful completion of the training marks another significant initiative by DIET Leh to strengthen the professional capacities of teachers and school leaders. The trained educators are expected to integrate the SEE Learning approach into their schools, helping create classrooms where students not only achieve academic excellence but also develop into compassionate, responsible and emotionally resilient individuals.
