Special Drive Initiated to Remove Unnecessary Poles and Hanging Wires in Kargil City

Kargil, May 15, 2026/ VOL News Desk/ District Administration Kargil has launched a special cleanliness and infrastructure improvement drive across Kargil town aimed at removing unnecessary electric poles, unused overhead wires, and other obsolete utility structures from various parts of the city.

The initiative is being carried out under the supervision and guidance of Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghulam Mohammad, with the objective of improving urban aesthetics, ensuring public convenience, and strengthening safety measures in busy market and residential areas.

As part of the ongoing campaign, several outdated poles and hanging wires that had remained unused for decades have been identified and dismantled. The administration stated that the removal of such redundant infrastructure will help reduce visual congestion, facilitate smoother traffic movement, and minimize risks to pedestrians and commuters.

ADDC Ghulam Mohammad emphasized that the drive reflects the administration’s commitment towards creating a cleaner, safer, and more organized urban environment in Kargil. He further stated that modernization and proper management of public utility infrastructure are essential steps towards the sustainable development of the town.

The District Administration has urged residents, shopkeepers, and all stakeholders to cooperate with the concerned departments during the drive and contribute towards maintaining a well-managed and aesthetically improved Kargil city.
