On the occasion of Republic Day, a detailed and informative seminar titled “The Constitution of India and Our Responsibilities” was organised today by the Guroh Tabyin, Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), Kargil. The objective of the seminar was to raise awareness about the Constitution of India, particularly among the youth, and to promote a sense of civic and social responsibility.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Kargil, Shafiq Ahmad attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while DySP Mohammad Ali and Advocate Talib Hussain were present as Guests of Honour. The seminar was attended by IKMT Chairman Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Mohammad Sadiq Rajai, Chairman of the Supervisory Council Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Mohammad Muhaqqiq, senior IKMT member Alhaj Asgar Ali Karbalai, members of Guroh Tabyin, heads of various IKMT departments, and a large number of prominent citizens.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest ACD Shafiq Ahmad highlighted the significance of the Constitution of India and elaborated on the rights and duties of citizens enshrined in it. He stressed that adherence to the Constitution is a collective responsibility of every citizen. Emphasising social harmony and national integration, he also underlined the importance of public service and community welfare.
Advocate Talib Hussain, in his address, delivered a comprehensive and well-reasoned presentation on the Constitution of India, explaining its fundamental principles, democratic values, and the balance between citizens’ rights and duties. He stated that the Constitution not only safeguards rights but also guides citizens towards responsible and dignified conduct.

In his concluding remarks, IKMT Chairman Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Mohammad Sadiq Rejai spoke in detail on the theme of the seminar, emphasising that understanding and practicing the spirit of the Constitution is essential for building a strong, peaceful, and progressive society.
At the end of the seminar, the organisers expressed gratitude to all the guests and participants and reiterated their commitment to organising similar academic and intellectual programmes in the future to promote constitutional awareness and responsible civic thinking in society.
