Winter Vacation Announced for Leh District Schools
The Chief Education Office, Union Territory of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh has issued an important corrigendum dated 05 December 2025 regarding the winter vacation schedule for all government and private schools in Leh district.According to the corrigendum (No. Misc-1/24658-47), the following revised dates shall now be followed:
Winter vacation in schools across Leh district shall remain closed for Winter Vacation with effect from 11th December 2025 (Thursday).
10th December 2025 shall be treated as the last working day for all schools.
All schools (government and private) in Leh district shall reopen on 2nd March 2026 (Monday).
All other terms and conditions mentioned in the original order No. Misc-1/29545 dated 04/12/2025 remain unchanged.The corrigendum has been issued under the signature of Mr. Delex Angmo, Chief Education Officer, Leh, and has been widely circulated to all concerned authorities including the Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Leh, Director of School Education UT Ladakh, all Zonal Education Officers, Principals, Headmasters, and other stakeholders for strict compliance and necessary action.
This revision provides one additional day of preparation before the commencement of the extended winter break, which is customary in Ladakh due to extreme cold weather conditions during the winter months.Parents, teachers, and students in Leh district are advised to take note of the updated schedule and plan accordingly.
