IKMT Kargil Receives Prestigious International Imam Khomeini Award During Official Iran Visit

VOL News Desk/ Prominent political and religious leader from Kargil, Ladakh, Haji Asghar Ali Karbalai, arrived in Iran on a five-day visit upon invitation to attend the International Imam Khomeini Award Conference in Tehran. The Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil, India, was awarded the prestigious Imam Khomeini International Award in recognition of its outstanding public and religious services.

This award is bestowed upon individuals and institutions for exceptional contributions at the international level.Upon receiving the news, a ceremony was organized at the Imam Khomeini Memorial Institute branch in Qom, where Asghar Ali Karbalai presented a certificate of appreciation and award on behalf of IKMT Kargil, handed over by Sheikh Muhammad Ijaz, president of the Qom branch.From Tehran International Airport, Karbalai proceeded to Mashhad for ziyarat at the shrine of Imam Reza (AS), then to Kerman to visit the mausoleum of General Qasem Soleimani, and finally to Qom for ziyarat at the shrine of Hazrat Masooma (SA).

In Qom, a large number of scholars and students from Ladakh warmly welcomed him, organizing a reception that began with beautiful Quranic recitation by Qari Sheikh Asif Asfi. Mehdi Mahdavi delivered the welcome address.During his speech, Karbalai discussed in detail the political situation in Ladakh and across India. Attendees praised his political role and inquired about recent events in Ladakh city, to which he provided satisfactory responses.

He visited various branches of the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust in Qom, including the main branch, women’s section, and Darul Quran Hazrat Zahra (SA), reviewing ongoing activities and expressing satisfaction. In a special meeting with executive members, officials, and women’s section representatives, he assured full support.The event concluded with thanks from Molana Mehdi Mahdavi, recitation of Dua Faraj, and Durud-o-Salam.
