IKMT, Kargil Honored with Prestigious International Award in Tehran
VOL News Desk/ The Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), a leading socio-religious organization in Kargil district of Ladakh, India, has been bestowed with the inaugural biennial International Imam Khomeini Award.The award ceremony took place in Tehran on December 17, 2025, where institutions and individuals from 14 countries were recognized. The IKMT was honored for its outstanding contributions to community services, education, and promoting interfaith harmony.
Al-Haj Asghar Ali Karbalai, representing the Trust, received the award from Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian during the event held in memory of the late Imam Khomeini.
This international recognition is seen as a source of immense pride for the people of the region and religious scholars. The Trust’s Chairman expressed gratitude to the government and institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, noting that the award acknowledges the organization’s services in alignment with the ideals of the Islamic Revolution on a global scale.
He extended heartfelt congratulations to all Trust members, particularly founding member Haji Asghar Ali Karbalai, executive committee members, affiliated revolutionary scholars, and the people of Kargil.
Congratulatory messages have also poured in from various public organizations in Ladakh and across India.
