Leh, December 24/ VOL News Desk/ Following his return from Iran after receiving the Imam Khomeini World Award, the Executive Body of the Anjuman Imamia Youth Wing Leh interacted with Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai, Member of the Guardian Council of the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT), at The Grand Dragon Hotel, Leh.

During the interaction, the Executive Body congratulated the people of Ladakh on IKMT being conferred with the Imam Khomeini World Award. The members stated that the award is a matter of pride for the region and acknowledged IKMT’s sustained contribution towards social welfare, humanitarian service, and community development in Ladakh.

The members appreciated the ground-level work carried out by IKMT and highlighted the social initiatives of the Anjuman Imamia Leh, particularly the services provided through the Alamdar Health Service and other welfare activities in the health and social sectors. They also mentioned that during the summer months, members of Anjuman Imamia Youth Wing Leh visit various wings of IKMT to understand its functioning and strengthen coordination for future collaborative activities.

Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai appreciated the efforts of Anjuman Imamia Leh and stated that IKMT belongs to the people of Kargil and Ladakh as a whole. He assured continued support from IKMT, especially in the health sector. He further briefed that IKMT has been consistently working in the fields of healthcare, education, social welfare, agriculture, and other allied sectors, with a focus on reaching vulnerable and remote communities through its various wings and programmes.

The interaction also included a discussion on the prevailing political scenario of Ladakh, focusing on development priorities, youth participation, and the need for collective efforts to address regional concerns in a constructive manner.
