AKSAD Successfully Concludes Annual “Fatima is Fatima” Seminar in New Delhi

New Delhi,December 14/ VOL News Desk/ The All Kargil (Ladakh) Students’ Association Delhi (AKSAD) successfully organised its Annual Event-cum-Seminar titled “FATIMA IS FATIMA” on December 13th, 2025, at the Ghalib Institute, ITO, commemorating the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima Zahra (s.a.), daughter of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Held under the theme “Women: The Pillar for Social Upliftment,” the programme reflected on the moral, social, and spiritual legacy of Lady Fatima Zahra (s.a.) and her relevance to contemporary discussions on women’s dignity and empowerment.
The programme began with a beautiful recitation of the Holy Qur’an by the students of Madrassa-e-Qurani (Ava Academy), followed by a welcome address by Sakina Banoo, Joint Secretary. Later begins with a Balti Qasida and other speeches by the presenters. This set the tone for a series of insightful addresses by eminent scholars and invited speakers.

Ayatollah Dr. Abdul Majid Hakeem Elahi, Representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, attended as the Chief Guest and highlighted the position of women in society. In his speech, he states that a society cannot move without women, emphasizing women as the soul of a society. Later, he stressed the importance of connection with God irrespective of gender criteria.

In his address, Agha Sultan, Chairman Central Relief Committee, Government of Karnataka; and the Guest of Honour of the event asked youths to launch a movement against the social evils particularly the dowry system. Other prominent speakers including Haji Haneefa Jan, Member of Parliament, UT Ladakh; Ghulam Rasool Dehlvi, eminent Indo-Islamic poet and Sufi writer; Sheikh Mirza Amini Sahab, Principal, Madrassa-e-Qurani (Ava Academy), Dasna; and Fizza Abbas Naqvi, Islamic Scholar and IT professional. Speakers emphasised the central role of women in social upliftment through education, faith, and moral responsibility, and highlighted the life of Bibi Fatima (s.a).

Towards the conclusion of the event, AKSAD felicitated the students with mementos in recognition of their exemplary contributions to academic endeavours. The Academic Council Heads of the Department of Law and the Department of Education were also honoured for their outstanding performance and scholarly contributions. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Bushra Tabassum, a team member, followed by a closing prayer led by Sheikh Mirza Amini, formally bringing the seminar to a close.
