The Handover Ceremony of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Kaksar Village.

VOL News Desk/ Khomeini Tower, Kargil, 05-11-2025 – A Landmark Step Towards Sustainable Development in Ladakh. BZB IKMT successfully organized a formal handover ceremony for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the Integrated Agriculture Development of Kaksar village. The event, held on 05/11/2025, marked a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts between the organization and the community. Presided over by the Hon’ble Chairman of IKMT, Hujjatul Islam Aqa-e-Sheikh Sadiq Rajai, the ceremony was attended by the Hon’ble Area Councillor, Shri. Abdul Wahid, the Baseej-e-Zaraat-wa-Baghbani Advisory and Executive members, Kaksar village leadership and community elders, symbolizing a shared commitment to a sustainable and prosperous future for Kaksar.

In response to a formal request from the Kaksar Village Representation, BZB IKMT, leveraging its expertise in sustainable agriculture, mobilized its technical team to prepare a comprehensive DPR. The report provides a holistic blueprint for development, focusing on enhancing agricultural resilience and promoting responsible tourism, all while safeguarding the fragile ecosystem of Ladakh. This ceremony was convened to formally present this strategic document to the community, marking the transition from planning to partnership.

The ceremony was conducted in a spirit of optimism and collaborative partnership. The programme schedule unfolded as follows:

• The event commenced with the warm reception of the Chief Guest, the Hon’ble Chairman of IKMT, followed by the Hon’ble Councilor of Kaksar, the Sarpanch, and esteemed village elders. They were traditionally welcomed by the Advisor BZB, Dr. Shabbir Hussain.

• The programme began with a holy Qur’anic recitation, by Aqa-e-Sheikh Hafizi, seeking divine blessings for the success of the initiative.

• Dr. Shabbir Hussain, Advisor and senior member of BZB IKMT delivered the welcome address, outlining the organization’s mission and the significance of the Kaksar project, setting a positive tone for the event.

• The President BZB, Shri. Ali Naqi, presented a detailed overview of the DPR. Using a PowerPoint presentation, the president highlighted key components, including proposed sustainable agricultural techniques, water management solutions, and integrated tourism models designed specifically for Kaksar’s unique landscape.

• The Hon’ble Councilor Kaksar and Sarpanch Kaksar expressed their gratitude to BZB and IKMT for their support. They shared the community’s aspirations and reaffirmed their commitment to actively participate in the implementation phase of the project.

• The pinnacle of the event was the formal handover of the DPR. The Hon’ble Chairman of IKMT presented the bound document to the Councilor and Sarpanch, symbolizing the transfer of this developmental blueprint into the hands of the community.

• In his presidential address, the Hon’ble Chairman commended the efforts of the BZB team and the proactive approach of the Kaksar community. He emphasized the importance of sustainable development in Ladakh and assured the continuous support and guidance of IKMT in bringing the project to fruition.

• Mr. Shabbir Hussain Fayaz, General Secretary BZB, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all guests, team members, Ladakh Express and the Public Informatics Cell (PIC) IKMT, for their support in documenting the event.

The active participation of the village leadership ensured the event was a true dialogue, reinforcing the community-owned nature of the project. The presentation effectively communicated the DPR’s vision, generating excitement and clarity about the future path for Kaksar. The ceremony served to solidify the partnership between BZB, its patron organization IKMT, and the people of Kaksar.
