Special Training Program for Booth Level Officers Concludes Successfully
Kargil, November 11/ VOL News Desk/ The final day of the Special Training Program for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Kargil District, covering Tehsil Kargil, was successfully conducted today at the Conference Hall, Baroo.
The training was organized by the District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Kargil, as part of the preparatory exercise for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.
The session commenced with Master Trainer Zakir Hussain Karbalai, who set a positive and motivating tone for the day. Mr. Karbalai demonstrated the newly introduced features in the BLO App, including the “Book a Call” option, enabling calls from any location by anyone. He emphasized that BLOs must respond to such calls within 48 hours, failing which the concerned BLOs will be held accountable.

Mr. Karbalai also highlighted the importance of the Voter Helpline App (VHA), explaining that voters can independently submit applications for addition, deletion, or correction of their names. He underlined the importance of accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in maintaining the electoral roll.
Following him, Master Trainer Mohd Amin stressed that ensuring the accuracy of the electoral roll is a fundamental step toward conducting free, fair, and credible elections. He elaborated on key topics such as Mapping, Progeny, and Self-Progeny, and explained the correct procedures for name correction, deletion, shifting, and the use of appropriate forms for different updates. Mr. Amin cautioned that any willful mistakes or negligence by BLOs would attract strict disciplinary action.
Special focus was placed on the verification process for married female voters, ensuring their proper inclusion in the electoral roll. The session also addressed the timely removal of deceased individuals and the inclusion of newly eligible voters—particularly those who have recently turned 18 or 21 years of age.
BLOs were urged to maintain close coordination with the public and to remain humble, approachable, and courteous in all interactions, thereby strengthening public confidence in the election process.
The day included practical exercises to help BLOs accurately map electors to their respective sections and families, along with group discussions, case studies, and an interactive Q&A session. All queries raised by the participants were thoroughly addressed, marking the successful conclusion of the training program.
