Kargil, November 06/ VOL News Desk/ Member of Parliament from Ladakh constituency, Mohmad Haneefa Jan, today conducted an extensive tour of the Poyen constituency to assess public grievances and developmental requirements in various villages.

He was accompanied by the Councillor of the constituency, Mohd Amin, Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Block Development Officer Kargil, Executive Engineer PWD, and other district officers and officials.

During his visit to Bagh-e-Khomeini, villagers raised demands for a solar lift irrigation system, establishment of a health centre, road widening, and improvement of the irrigation khul, among other issues.

At Akchamal, the public demanded the posting of a doctor at the local medical centre, appointment of a full fledged principal at Government Higher Secondary School Akchamal, funds for the construction of washrooms at Imam Bargah, resolution of MGNREGA related issues, and upgradation of Netaji Hostel, among other concerns.

At Biathang Shilikchay, villagers sought compensation for the link road project and its completion, construction of a wooden bridge, and timely execution of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works.

At Panchayat Ghar Shilikchay, the public demanded operationalisation of the Common Facility Centre , improvement of the road network, and construction of Imam Bargah Road. The MP assured the villagers of his full support and issued necessary directions to the concerned departments.

At Mal and Hunderman, residents raised issues including road connectivity, installation of mobile towers, reopening of the Kargil–Skardu road, construction of bunkers, and several other local demands.

At Hunderman Broq, people demanded the construction of a Maktab building, resolution of JJM-related issues, shifting of the existing medical centre building, renovation of irrigation khul, demarcation of Panchayat wards, enhancement of porters’ salaries, and establishment of an ice hockey rink with proper equipment. The MP instructed officials to look into the matters on priority and assured the villagers that kitchen sets would be provided in the upcoming financial year.

The MP assured to take up all issues at the Council level, UT Administration level, and Central Government level for early resolution. He also urged villagers to actively participate in awareness initiatives like Jan Hit Camps to familiarize themselves with centrally sponsored schemes and employment generation programmes.

The Councillor of Poyen constituency, Mohd Amin, extended his gratitude to the UT Administration of Ladakh, LAHDC Kargil, and the District Administration for their continued support and for approving the Hunderman Lift Irrigation Project worth ₹27 crore.

He also informed about various developmental initiatives of his constituency.
