Kargil, November 07/ VOL News Desk/ The first-ever Volleyball teams of the Union Territory of Ladakh in the Under-19 and Under-17 Boys and Girls categories were today flagged off by Director Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Tahir Hussain Zabdavi, from Kargil. The teams are proceeding to Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh to represent Ladakh in the 69th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National Championships 2025.

A total of 54 athletes, including managers and coaches, are participating in the championships. While interacting with the teams, the Director extended his best wishes for their excellent performance, urging them to play with discipline, dedication, and true sportsmanship to bring laurels to the Union Territory.

Officials of the Youth Services and Sports Department and parents of the athletes were also present during the flag-off ceremony, adding encouragement and support to the young players.

This event marks a historic milestone for UT Ladakh, as it is the first time Volleyball teams are participating in the SGFI Nationals — a reflection of the region’s growing sporting culture and commitment to nurturing youth talent.
